An area of 145 square km comprising the northern ~38% portion of EL 4554 centred ~50 km north-east of Leigh Creek has been relinquished due to its now perceived diminished prospectivity for copper and gold mineralisation. Work conducted on the relinquished ground has been as follows: - in December 2011, part of an 8250 line km low level fixed-wing airborne magnetic and radiometric survey was acquired along north-south flight lines 100 m apart, using a 30 m mean sensor elevation above the ground surface. Southern Geoscience Consultants Pty Ltd undertook subsequent interpretation of the survey data; - during October 2012, field visits were made to inspect known mineral occurrences and recorded historic abandoned mine workings, and also the surface locations of geophysical anomalies generated by the work of Southern Geoscience; and - in July-August 2013, 3 inclined open RC holes with a combined total penetration of 224 m were drilled at the historic Nevada mine prospect, where past underground workings had mined an eastwards dipping quartz vein carrying up to a reported 30 g/t Au. The drillholes were respectively designed to intersect the lode's outcropping gossanous material below the base of oxidation (at ~19 m downhole) and the reduced sulphide-bearing quartz lode proper at ~19 m and ~40 m vertical depth. No significant trace metal values were returned from laboratory assaying of 81 downhole drill cuttings samples.
