Early during licence Year 13, two separate portions of EL 4935 together totalling 46 square km or 83.6% of the licence's former area have been relinquished due to the chance of discovery there of gold and base metals by a small, self-funded explorer becoming seen as cost-prohibitive under the revised administrative setup recently imposed. No work was done on the relinquished portions during the past 25 months. The reasons for this cessation of activity are explained in the report summary section. Prior to this time, activities undertaken on the subject ground included geological mapping, rock chip sampling, stream sediment sampling, geophysical data modelling, the acquisition of ground gravity and airborne helimag surveys, and limited exploratory RAB/aircore drilling. Descriptions of this past work and the resulting data have previously been released by the licensee in mid-2012 and are held separately (see Env 9580).
