Exploration for possible Mississippi Valley - type stratabound base metal deposits hosted by Early Palaeozoic limestones in the Rapid Bay district has consisted only of a regional stream sediment survey (204 samples). Numerous low order base metal anomalies were found, but upon field inspection these were deemed insignificant.
