An area centred ~25 km south-southwest of Tarcoola is being explored for possible buried epithermal/hydrothermal copper-gold and magmatic copper-nickel-PGE mineralisation which could have formed within Archaean and Proterozoic basement rocks. During the first and second licence year, no work was done. On the 28th March 2018 the lease for EL 5673 was transferred from Fowlers Resources Pty Ltd to Vale Australia (Vale). Vale are primarily targeting nickel sulphide mineralisation associated with the Lake Harris Komatiite analogous to the komatiitic nickel-sulfide deposits of the Yilgarn Craton in Western Australia. The possibility of iron-oxide-copper-nickel (IONC) mineralisation similar to the Jaguar deposit in Brazil is also considered. During the third licence year to 2018, Vale has been focused on compiling and acquiring data in preparation for future exploration efforts. While no on-ground exploration activities were undertaken, Vale acquired SPOT6/SPOT7 satellite imagery over EL 5673 (and adjoining tenement EL 5672) covering an area of 1638 km2, with 1.5 m resolution panchromatic, 6 m multispectral, and 3 m digital surface model. Compilation of open file data from SARIG was also undertaken to produce a GIS database including historical drill collars, geochemistry and geophysics.
