A partial relinquishment of ~50% of the previous area of EL 6350 has been made to comply with licence renewal and expenditure conditions, with 35 square km of the southern sub-block being relinquished, now reducing its area to 11 square km. The retained portion of ground there covers the radiogenic Hiltaba Suite Charleston Granite, which is prospective for uranium and base metals mineralisation that may be associated with this granite intrusion and its contact aureole within adjacent country rocks. Little systematic exploration has previously been carried out in this area other than the SA Government's 1980s regional airborne magnetic survey and later company ground gravity surveys, and parts of an airborne EM survey flown during 2010 and a helimag survey flown during 2012 by Stellar Resources Limited and UraniumSA Limited. Only one historic shallow coal/oil shale exploration hole has been drilled on the now relinquished ground. Hiltaba Gold Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Stellar Resources Ltd) is retaining all of the northern sub-block of EL 6350 where previously, joint venture partner Gingertom Resources Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of UraniumSA Ltd, experienced success in exploring for buried Tertiary sediment-hosted roll-front style secondary uranium occurrences, including recording a number of potentially economic grade uranium intersections made in holes drilled in the north-western part of this sub-block. On their adjoining licences located in this “Mullaquana” mineralised trend in the Pirie Basin, UraniumSA Ltd / Samphire Resources Ltd have also made similar sedimentary uranium discoveries at the Blackbush, Samphire and Plumbush deposits.
