241 square km or 60% of the originally granted area of a licence centred ~125 km south-east of Coober Pedy, comprising two separate sub-blocks, has been relinquished due to its now perceived low prospectivity for buried basement-hosted IOCG mineralisation. During the 2012-2014 reporting period, Fortescue conducted an initial desktop review of the tenement area's prospectivity, based on available previous company data. This review included reviews done by senior Fortescue geologists as well as by external consultants. In late December 2013, CGG Aviation flew an airborne FALCON gravity gradiometry and magnetic survey totalling 4794 flight line km over ELs 5023, 5024, 5025, 5026, 5030 and 5031 along variously orientated traverse lines spaced 1 km apart, using an 80 m mean terrain clearance. Across the tenement area in 2014, historic regional ground gravity survey data coverage was augmented via spot gravity readings taken by the company to achieve an average 1 km station spacing. During 2015-2016, Fortescue performed interpretation and modelling of the geophysical data acquired from the above-mentioned aerial survey. In September 2017, across multiple Fortescue exploration tenements, contractor Atlas Geophysics conducted a regional gravity survey having a 500 m nominal station spacing which was designed to provide complete ground gravity coverage and to infill previous 1 km spaced gravity data. In total, 1407 new gravity stations were read on the subject two surrendered portions of EL 5030/6062. The relevant survey data subsets are released herein. Data processing, validation, and merging of the acquired gravity data with existing open file gravity data was performed before undertaking a geophysical interpretation. No geophysical anomalies with the potential to host IOCG mineralisation were identified on the now relinquished ground portions. No other work was done on the relinquished ground portions before or after the decision was made in 2020 to drop them.
