Exploration licence 5777 “Webling Bay” covers an area of 82 square km is situated on the western Yorke Peninsula. The project area consists entirely of Cainozoic quartz sand cover with minor outcrop of Tickera granite along the coast. The Cainozoic cover unconformably overlie a complex sequence of Paleoproterozoic metasediments and volcanics intruded by Mesoproterozoic Hiltaba Suite granite with demonstrated IOCG alteration/mineralisation. During the first reporting year, Rifle Resources commenced project promotion. At the end of the reporting period, Rifle entered early phase discussions with an external party with the aim of establishing a potential project Farm-In and Joint Venture Agreement. Exploration activities were limited to background desktop studies including a review of historical exploration data including drilling and geophysical data. Conceptual Iron-Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) target development, data and literature reviews culminated in a summary information memorandum project presentation [See appendix 1]. Rifle Resources entered into a Farm-In and Joint Venture Agreement (FJVA) with Spencer Metals Pty Ltd (Spencer Metals) with a Commencement Date of 1 September 2017. Under the terms of the FJVA, Spencer Metals may spend $70,000 within the first year of the FJVA to earn a 60% interest in EL5777. Spencer Metals can then elect to earn a further 20% (total 80%) Joint Venture Interest by contributing a further $280,000 within four years of the anniversary of the Commencement Date of the FJVA. Currently EL5777 is held 100% by Rifle Resources but Spencer Metals is the nominated Tenement Manager and Operator. During the second reporting year, Spencer Metals continued with with its literature review and the compilation of a digital database, with the ongoing geological interpretation of open file textures and geochemical data. Landowner engagement and meetings were undertaken. A planned ground gravity survey was scrapped due to opposition from affected landowners. Plans were underway at the end of the reporting period to conduct a airborne gravity survey. Efforts are currently focused on an area called Wokurna containing haematite-predominant, sulphide bearing breccias within the middle upper Wallaroo Group, near magnetite- and haematite-altered metasomatites and highly altered (haematite predominant alteration) Hiltaba Granite, close to a ~1590 Ma major fault which controlled basin architecture during the Hiltaba thermal event. During the third reporting year no field work was undertaken due to on going opposition from landowners. Work done included ongoing literature review, capture of data and creation of digital files, landowner consultation, acquisition of other publicly available data, collation and interpretation of potential field data, with emphasis on interpreting ancestral rift strictures associated with Hiltaba thermal event, preliminary review and planning for full review of previous drilling including rare earth geochemistry and for airborne gravity gradiometry survey, and reporting.
