Exploration Licence 5792 “Evelyn Dam” is in the central eastern Gawler Craton, proximal to the western extent of the Stuart Shelf. The large-scale Evelyn Dam gravity anomaly has been subject of high quality airborne and ground gravity and magnetics surveys, but not drilled by previous explorers. An eastern deepening cover overlies Mesoproterozoic basement lithologies of the Olympic Domain. During the first licence year to 24th May 2017, Resource Holdings undertook geophysical interpretation and modelling of existing geophysical data sets, that highlighted a large scale dense, non-magnetic body interpreted to be hematite related as part of potential IOCG system. Discussions with a major mining company were advanced to establish an exploration Joint Venture agreement to fund deep drill testing of the Evelyn Dam IOCG Target. A Joint Venture Agreement was commenced between Resource Holdings Pty Ltd and Rio Tinto Exploration in February 2018. During licence Year 2, exploration activities on EL 5792 were undertaken by Rio Tinto Exploration who undertook a drilling program to test the Evelyn Dam gravity anomaly. A single vertical RCA pre-collar/diamond tail hole (EVE001) was drilled to a total depth of 735.8 m, with HQ/NQ core collected from 178.7 m. Geochemistry, spectral logging, petrology, and the physical properties for the downhole material was captured. Within the intersected Pandurra Formation, between 250-360 m, native copper and minor chalcopyrite was observed constrained to “reduction spots” up to 2.5% Cu – selective pXRF reading. Gawler Range Volcanics were intersected at 431 m, disseminated pyrite ~1% (selectively replaced to siderite) and vein related galena between the depths of ~430- 500 m and 660-720 m. No significant mineralisation was observed in EVE001, but the presence of distal IOCG+U style alteration was noted. Portable XRF data was collected at 1 m intervals downhole, while 6 RCA chip and 92 core samples were submitted for 4-acid digest and ICP-MS of 48 elements. A ASD TerraSpec HALO was utilised to aid in the interpretation of the alteration mineralisation identified in the drill core. Twenty diamond drill core samples were sent to Pontifex & Associates for general and alteration petrology studies [See included report].
