This ADI funded programme consisted of exploration drilling, geophysics programs and aboriginal employment relating to copper exploration conducted over the Mt Craig Project in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia. Exploration activities were predominantly focussed on two prospects, Wyacca and Shute. Wyacca is located on a drag folded part of the western limb of the Worumba anticline in the northern part of the tenement package. Shute is a prospect under cover on the Western limb of the Worumba anticline in the central part of the tenement package. Taruga considers the Adelaide geosyncline to have scope for unlocking mineralisation potential through further discoveries using modern exploration and testing concepts not previously available or considered. Taruga conducted drilling, high-resolution gravity and high-resolution ground magnetics surveys over both the Wyacca and Shute prospects. Approximately 1,450 m of RAB/AC drilling (14 RAB & 14 AC holes) and 50 m of Auger drilling (20 holes) was conducted during the period. Samples from all holes were tested in house using pXRF, with follow up laboratory analysis for select samples. In addition, over 233-line km worth of ground magnetics data was acquired, and 2,250 new gravity station readings obtained. From the raw geophysics data, both 2D imagery and 3D models have been developed through the services of SGC (Southern Geoscience Consultants) and this assisted drill targeting, exploration model development and geological understanding. The geophysics in combination with data from past and recent drilling has improved the understanding on the prospective copper geological systems at Mt Craig Project and in particular the responses of key lithological units to both magnetics and gravity. The understanding developed lowered the priority level of original targets outside of these two main prospects over which exploration activities are being reported.
