Fourteen shallow auger holes to 30 feet deep were drilled in the Mount Magnificent area to test an occurrence of kaolinised sand which might suit as raw material for refractory ceramic manufacture. Laboratory sieve analyses and clay silica determinations were carried out on the drill cuttings samples.
