A possible association between copper and uranium mineralisation such as had been reported in the early 1950s at the Nicholl's Nob mine, located just to the east of the subject licence, was pursued by E-Z, who in this case examined the western extension of the Mount Burr Diapir. Reconnaissance and later detailed ground radiometric prospecting, accomplished by both vehicle-borne and foot scintillometric traverses, addressed all of the diapir outcrop and related structural features such as faults, lineaments and crush zones in the surrounding metasediments. Several small areas having slightly anomalous radioactivity (to 4 x background) were outlined, with one geochemical analysis of a ferruginous dolomite sampled 1 mile east of Mount Bourne returning 80 ppm U, but none of the occurrences were deemed worthy of further work.
