81 closely-spaced rotary mud vertical open drillholes (total penetration 9218 m) evaluated known low grade palaeochannel uranium mineralisation previously detected in Miocene sand sequences adjacent to the Anabama - Redan Fault by Tricentrol Australia Ltd (on its EL 63). The best new intercept obtained was 0.3 m @ 0.096% eU308 from 102.3 m depth in hole M15, but this hit plus a few others of subeconomic tenor demonstrated that the ore distribution is probably patchy and unpredictable within the palaeochannel and nearby in possible deltaic sediments, because the uranium mineralisation is generally associated with reduced pyritic clay zones adjacent to the Miocene palaeochannel sand section. Further drilling evaluation of the economic significance of this occurrence is required.
