Continuing mineral exploration work over central Yorke Peninsula under a new joint venture arrangement with a different company, now targetting possible Phanerozoic sedimentary uranium in Cambrian and Tertiary strata, has consisted of investigations of the Pavey and Glenburnie radiometric anomalies, and of IP anomalies near the Parara mine. Trace uranium and base metal values were found in the Cambrian and Tertiary sequences intersected by DDH Ardrossan 1 (TD 220.5 m), but no economic mineralization was encountered. Further work is recommended at the Parara mine, where copper, lead, zinc and tungsten anomalism is associated with disseminated chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite veining in calc-silicate rocks.
