Tests were carried out on an ore composite sample from MG14, and a comparative grind on a current mill sample from the Cattlegrid deposit. The major sulphide minerals are chalcocite (1.6%), bornite (1.5%), chalcopyrite (0.2%), sphalerite (0.3%), pyrite (0.1%), and carollite (0.1%). Tests to obtain the highest copper grade and recovery through the existing Mount Gunson concentrator indicate that the maximum recovery will approach 75% Cu if 22 minutes flotation time and 450 g/t potassium amyl xanthate collector reagent are used for treating header ores grading better than 18+% copper.
