The proposal to mine 4 orebodies of the Mount Gunson copper deposit is examined with respect to plant design, capital and operating costs and estimated ore reserves. A sequence for stripping waste, stock piling oxide ores and mining sulphide ores is proposed over 10 years. The copper ore delivered to the process plant during the first 7 years will contain copper sulphide minerals which are readily concentrated by flotation. During the last 3 years the ore will be chiefly oxidized copper ore which will be more costly to treat and will yield a lower grade of copper concentrate.
