Exploration of Proterozoic basement lithologies overlain by Tertiary sediments in the Lake Charles region, 120 km NNW of Cockburn, was limited to the interpretation of regional geophysical data and the sampling of basement rock fragments remaining around previous drill hole collars. Details of significant drillhole intersections of base metal mineralisation, that have recently been encountered 40 km to the south in EL 957 near Benagerie, are included.
