As part of a regional search for sandstone-type sedimentary uranium deposits, Carpentaria drilled 85 rotary open holes (total 4672 m) in an area 60 km east-southeast of Ceduna, and successfully located the south-western extension of the Narlaby Palaeochannel, which here is more than 6 km wide and contains up to 80 m thickness of potentially uranium-bearing ?Eocene fluviatile sediments.
