Poor assay results returned from 7 percussion drillholes totalling 1536 m, put down just south-west of Cockburn to test UTEM III anomalies in a search for buried Broken Hill - type mineralisation, have downgraded the base metal potential of this area of the Olary district. Other, preliminary work undertaken in this region of very poor basement outcrop consisted of ironstone sampling for assay and petrology, Crone PEM and ground magnetic surveys, reconnaissance geological mapping and regional stratigraphic correlations.
