Exploration for possible epithermal uranium and base metal deposits as part of Marathon's Gunsight Project, in the northern part of the Mount Babbage Inlier around Prospect Hill, comprised orientation and regional rock chip, stream sediment and soil geochemical surveys, detailed geological mapping at 1:5000 scale in selected areas, petrographic and mineralogical studies, and ground magnetic and radiometric surveying on local 10 x 25 m assay anomaly grids. Scattered stockwork tourmaline-fluorite vein occurrences of tin mineralisation (as coarse cassiterite up to 0.3 mm grainsize) and minor tungsten are associated with Middle Proterozoic acid volcanic tuffs and cataclastic-textured granitic intrusives. Shearing, silicification, Ca-Mg and Al-Fe alteration and tourmalinization are closely associated with the tin mineralisation.
