A mapping programme was undertaken by the licensees to test the possibility of the near-mine area to Mount Gunson being a suitable host environment for stratiform copper mineralisation. The exploration hypothesis used was that such mineralisation would occur in tectonic and/or topographic depressions in the Pandurra Formation. Plans generated by the programme include geological maps for the Pernatty Lagoon area, Canegrass Dam area, central mining area, Wirrappa area and Elizabeth River Delta area, plus a map of Mount Gunson mine area bedrock lithology prepared from drilling data, and structure contours of the upper surface of the Woocalla Dolomite in the same area.
