Historic mining of mainly secondary copper ores plus some sulphides disseminated in granite and locally concentrated in fissure veins at Mount Fitton South has yielded about 2500 tons of material, but possible extensions of the better lodes remain untested at depth below the water table, where potential supergene sulphide enrichment may prove richest. Mapping of the still accessible mine workings, drilling into the water-saturated zone beneath the lowest workings, and an induced polarisation survey of the mine area are recommended.
