Todmorden 2's primary objective was to confirm an inferred salt dome located below a gravity low anomaly. The well intersected an impervious quartzite cap rock, a dolomitic sandstone with traces of native sulphur, and an evaporite and red siltstone lithology, which is probably part of a diapiric or salt dome structure. Elevation - GL 217 m; 50 m NW of SADME peg 6300 on gravity traverse. Status: plugged and abandoned.
