31 cored shallow vertical holes were drilled for a total penetration of 88 m. Tonnages for the southern half of the lake examined were calculated at 15.4 Mt of gypsum with CaSO4 >90%, 29.2 Mt with CaSO4 >80%, and 30.1 Mt with CaSO4 >60%....

Tonnages for the southern half of the lake examined were calculated at 15.4 Mt of gypsum with CaSO4 >90%, 29.2 Mt with CaSO4 >80%, and 30.1 Mt with CaSO4 >60%. Disadvantages of the deposit are the presence of calcite, the inferior colour and the high water table.
