A geological and geochemical appraisal made of various mines and prospects in the Beltana area has sugggested that only those situated nearest the Nuccaleena Diapir are the most likely to yield drilling success in the search for significant extensions to known copper mineralisation. The original target of identifying significant reserves of economic secondary supergene oxide-carbonate copper mineralisation has been downgraded due to lack of success, planned future work being reprogrammed in favour of finding diapir-related primary copper sulphides, of a type similar to those recently discovered by drilling the Paltridge South zone at the Mountain of Light prospect near the Copley Diapir. To augment planned development of the remnant secondary copper mineralisation identified at Mountain of Light, the only additional reserves so far identified by Bridge within EL 118 exist at the Copper Queen prospect, situated 4 km west of the Beltana Railway Siding, where an indicated reserve of 50,000 tonnes of 0.7% Cu was mapped by previous drilling done by Carpentaria Exploration, which outlined oxide mineralisation in an inferred tabular deposit 50 feet thick, 150 feet wide and with a strike length of more than 200 feet, still open to the west.
