TARGET: Buried possible Olympic Dam - type mineralization, and massive iron ore mineralization, in the Balta Baltana Creek area; possible diamond-bearing kimberlite rocks on Engenina. EXPLORATION: Aeromagnetic surveys were flown with follow-up ground magnetic and gravity surveys. 4 diamond drill holes over 2 magnetic anomalies on Balta Baltana penetrated a highly metamorphosed sedimentary sequence. Another 3 magnetic anomalies were drilled on Engenina, but no kimberlite pipes were found. Only 1 hole, 83ERC2, penetrated basement (granite gneiss). RESULTS: No economic mineralization was encountered.
