McLeay Beds review. A petrography study.

The aim was to differentiate, using microscopic traits, the McLeay Beds from the Tapley Hill Formation lying above it, and the Pandurra Formation below. The formation boundaries as established by petrography are at variance with the stratigraphic boundaries logged on a mesoscopic scale, and the sequence of McLeay Beds lithologies vary somewhat from area to area. In places, an apparent gradation of lithologies appears to occur upwards into the Tapley Hill Formation and downwards into the Pandurra Formation.
