Prompted by records of anomalous radioactivity being detected at old copper workings in the Hawker - Willochra region of the Flinders Ranges, the licensees decided to investigate the Arkaba Diapir for possible uranium mineralisation that might be associated with several copper showings located near the diapir's margin. Reconnaissance vehicle-borne radiometric surveying along roads and tracks, and follow-up more detailed ground radiometric traverses made on foot, both failed to detect any significant radioactivity levels at the surface within inferred prospective structures and formations, or emanating from known metallic mineral occurrences. Due to this lack of exploration encouragement, it was decided to surrender the licence.
