No economic or potentially economic mineralisation was noted during a geological survey of the old surface and underground gold workings on the Mount Grainger Goldfield. The Mount Grainger anticlinal structure is considered by the authors to be quite different structurally from typical large diapirs containing known deposits of copper and other minerals elsewhere in the Flinders Ranges, and in consequence they find little reason to suspect the presence of buried orebodies in the core of this structure.
