TARGET: Possible diamonds in the Barton region. EXPLORATION: Acquisition of an aerial magnetic-radiometric-VLF EM survey (line spacing: 300 m; altitude: 70 m) led to field investigations of 142 potential kimberlite targets generated from this survey and from regional remote sensing and photogeological studies, utilising heavy mineral sampling plus 3 phases of geophysical evaluation (namely, ground magnetics and helicopter-borne magnetic resistivity and Sirotem surveys), each of which was followed by a drilling programme (overall creating 59 holes totalling 4359 m). RESULTS: No potentially diamondiferous rocks were discovered.
