TARGET: Possible heavy mineral placer or sedimentary uranium deposits within the Narlaby Palaeochannel in the Nunjikompita - Hiltaba areas on western Eyre Peninsula. EXPLORATION: Reverse circulation drilling traverses (50 holes totalling 1213 m), with mineralogical examination and grainsize analysis of panned drillhole samples, plus downhole geophysical gamma ray logging. RESULTS: Only trace amounts of zircon were disclosed in the heavy mineral concentrates, but no opaque minerals were present. No downhole radioactive horizons were detected.
