TARGET: Stratabound gold in prospective areas of Adelaidean sedimentary outcrop peripheral to the Waukaringa Goldfield. EXPLORATION: After undertaking a literature review and assessment of previous exploration results, plus a regional geophysical interpretation, the licensee conducted field work comprising stream sediment, heavy mineral, rock chip and soil sampling, plus 1:1000 scale geological mapping and ground magnetic surveys, followed up by RAB drilling (30 holes totalling 683 m) over 2 prospects. RESULTS: Soil sampling over a known 4.2 ppm Au anomaly at Round Hill Bore detected a coincident multielement anomaly positioned above an interpreted major fault that passes NNW-SSE through that prospect. 23 shallow RAB holes were drilled to test new geochemical targets at this prospect, which were suspected of having hydrothermal associations with a possible buried intrusive igneous or diapiric body at about 500 m depth, but none of the holes found gold values greater than 0.5 g/t over a 2 m interval. Geochemical anomaly Zone C at Moneo Ridge prospect averaged 5.59 ppm Au over 10 m from new rock chip sampling: here the silicified quartzite host unit contains up to 50% pyrite, again suggesting a hydrothermal mineralising influence from a newly discovered granite stock found subcropping 300 m away to the west. A programme of 7 RAB holes for 288 m was designed to test the extent of the major mineralised veinset in the quartzite. A consistent 10-12 m width of quartzite was intersected, carrying sporadic quartz veins and underlain by a fresh, sulphidic dark grey-black siltstone-shale. 4 of the drillholes intersected 2 m-thick intervals assaying between 0.54 to 2.69 g/t Au.
