TARGET: Diamond-bearing kimberlitic diatremes within the eastern portion of the Proterozoic Musgrave Block; gold, base metals and platinum group metals in the Musgrave-Mann Metamorphics. EXPLORATION: Helicopter - borne regional gravel and stream sediment sampling, with follow-up rock chip sampling, petrology and SEM microprobe analysis of chromite grains. RESULTS: Regional geochemical anomalies were downgraded by follow-up sampling. The chromites recovered were proven by SEM microprobe studies to be non-kimberlitic.
