A previous study of thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics of the Pandurra Formation indicated that only Member 4 had suffered widespread major radiation damage above that wholly attributable to source effects. This study was undertaken on hole LY2 within the Cattlegrid orebody, to: - examine Member 4 in detail to confirm that all of it had suffered radiation damage; - compare the radiation damage in the Whyalla Sandstone with that of the underlying Pandurra Formation; - see if there is evidence of vertical radiation damage trends which could indicate a vertical plumbing system for ore-bearing fluids. The TL glow curve of a sample from the Olympic Dam deposit was also compared to those derived from rocks in the Cattlegrid area.
