Groundwater sampling of 131 exploration holes, 3 stock wells and 7 deep diamond drillholes was carried out as part of a series of surveys to determine the usefulness of helium as a pathfinder for uranium deposits in a variety of geological, geomorphological and environmental settings. There is no apparent regional pattern discernable in the acquired helium or radon data. Leakage from a N-S trending basement fault may, however, account for a cluster of high helium content samples north of Pernatty Lagoon. The 1002 m deep diamond drillhole EC21 contains 1585 ppm and 63.9 Emans Rn in a groundwater sample which was taken at 50 m below the water table, and this result is highly anomalous compared to those for other holes in the area.
