TARGET: Possible epithermal gold and base metal deposits associated with volcanic centres; related hydrothermal alteration deposits; and diamonds. EXPLORATION: Regional and follow-up geochemical sampling (gravel, stream sediment and rock chip, plus heavy mineral determinations for kimberlitic indicators and microdiamonds), geological mapping, petrological studies of surface mineralisation, detailed aerial magnetic and radiometric surveys, ground magnetic and regional gravity surveys, and trial aerial GEOTEM surveys. RESULTS: Minor Pb-Zn-Cu-As-Sb mineralisation was disclosed at the Sherry Dam prospect, where detailed geophysical ground survey data suggest that the most likely source of the 10 km x 6 km complex coincident gravity and magnetic low is a granite pluton beneath the volcanic cover.
