TARGET: Possible diamonds and diapir-associated copper mineralisation in an area extending south and west from Lyndhurst. EXPLORATION: Drainage geochemical and gravel sampling, ground magnetic and IP surveys, and percussion and shallow RAB drilling of magnetic anomalies (9 percussion/30 RAB holes totalling 914 m). RESULTS: No kimberlitic intrusions or significant mineralisation were found at the 5 magnetic anomalies drilled. Basalt and dolerite were intersected by drillholes at four of the prospects, giving a best mineralised intersection of 20 m @ 900 ppm Cu in PD90PF1, from 50 m depth at Playfair 1 prospect. These basic rocks are regarded as diapir-related, and do not represent the source of chromite and rare picroilmenite indicator minerals recovered from the centre of the licence. The indicators may have been shed by local Tertiary silcrete grits, but this relationship has not been definitely established.
