TARGET: Possible economic alluvial gold occurrences hidden beneath a broad floodplain formed north of the Waukaringa Goldfield. EXPLORATION: Acquisition of two seismic refraction profiles to try to map bedrock depth, which could not be interpreted, followed by the excavation of ten randomly sited trenches, and the treatment of basal conglomerate bulk samples to obtain heavy mineral concentrates. RESULTS: The gold recovery was too low, and appeared to be very patchy.
