TARGET: Uranium and base metal deposits associated with Early to Middle Proterozoic basement geological structures and rock units in Spencer Gulf coastal areas east and south of Port Broughton. EXPLORATION: Aerial magnetic and radiometric surveys, Landsat image analysis, gravity, ground magnetic, ground radiometric, Sirotem and IP surveys, plus rotary/percussion, RAB and auger drilling (268 holes, total 12,489 m) and diamond drilling (17 holes, total 4565 m), with numerous geochemical and petrographic analyses of drill samples. RESULTS: Only minor concentrations of base metals, uranium, rare earth elements and gold were intersected, although disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralisation is common within polymodal acid to intermediate intrusives and altered metasedimentary bedrock units.
