TARGET: Exploration and evaluation of known secondary copper occurrences and exploration for gold and phosphates in the Lyndhurst-Copley region. EXPLORATION: Including the work done previously in EL 929, exploration activities undertaken since 1981 have comprised percussion drilling (724 holes, total penetration 25,528 m), diamond drilling (6 holes, total 240 m), the replotting of Bridge Minerals' former drill hole data and assays of ore samples, metallurgical testing of bulk samples, and an ore reserve calculation. A mine feasibility study, which included groundwater and environmental impact investigations, was performed for the Mountain-of-Light copper deposit. RESULTS: Small tonnages of low-grade secondary copper mineralisation were delineated at several old mine prospects, including at Mount Lyndhurst (White Lead, Lynda, Lorna Doone), at Mount Coffin (Elsie Adair, West Jubilee), and at Mountain-of-Light. Gold exploration at Boolooroo and reconnaissance sampling for phosphates revealed no significant mineralisation.
