TARGET: Diamonds, gold and copper in the Mount Roebuck area. EXPLORATION: Drainage, loam and rock chip sampling, ground magnetic, radiometric and IP surveys, and diamond drilling (4 holes totalling 739 m). RESULTS: A single, 0.5 mm x 0.4 mm diameter micro-diamond was recovered, but follow-up gravel sampling for a total of 169 samples returned no further diamonds or indicator minerals. Geochemical analysis of surface samples of a suspected auriferous ironstone taken from near the Angepena alluvial goldfields disclosed 1 ppm Au. A subsequent drillhole to test this unit below the depth of oxidation gave a 2.6 m intersection from 132.2 m depth which assayed 0.39 ppm Au, still in oxidised ironstone. Geological mapping and limited drilling of potential copper-gold targets lying south-east of Angepena Hill and near Depot Springs, which had been identified from past and current geochemical exploration, revealed only low grades of mineralisation associated with gossanous shale breccia horizons lying near the base of the Tapley Hill Formation.
