Exploration for possible stratabound gold has included detailed geological mapping, at 1:20,000 scale, which was focussed on the Tapley Hill Formation - Tarcowie Siltstone stratigraphic contact. An attempt was made to identify the bedrock source of weak soil gold anomalism, which was thought to emanate from covered areas underlain by the Appila Tillite. The area now relinquished is considered to be unprospective for stratabound gold mineralisation.
