TARGET: Possible commercial Menninnie Dam type stratabound or stratiform base metal deposits in the Cowell - Kimba - Buckleboo region. EXPLORATION: Field reconnaissance and rock chip geochemical sampling of prospective areas identified from interpretation of reprocessed aeromagnetic data and Landsat TM imagery. RESULTS: No significant geochemical anomalies were seen in the Bunora or Miltalie North areas. Lead isotope studies were made that have characterised the scattered Pb (+/- Cu,U) sulphide mineralisation in the Mount Olinthus area as unlikely to be either stratiform or prospective. Further exploration of these areas by airborne EM surveys or RAB drilling of basement under shallow cover is seen to be a low priority task compared to other company work in the region. A possible large but fairly disseminated zone of graphite mineralisation was identified at Balumbah.
