Exploration for possible Precambrian hydrothermal vein style or unconformity type uranium deposits and for any other economic metalliferous minerals was carried out over a small inlier of Early Proterozoic rocks that partially outcrops between Stirling and Basket Range in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. A detailed airborne radiometric survey was flown in late 1968, and the results have been presented as isoradioactivity contour maps for Tl208 (Th), Bi214 (U), K40, Bi214/Tl208 and Bi214/K40. Only one weak (to 150 counts/sec, or 3 times background) radiometric anomaly was delineated, centred approximately 1 mile east of Piccadilly, which was not regarded as significant, as it appears to arise from minor radioactive pegmatoid segregations.
