Geochemical orientation sampling was conducted over old surface workings at the historic Almanda mine to ascertain the most suitable pathfinder element for defining any remaining mineralisation. One diamond drillhole (having 65 degrees inclination on azimuth 180 degrees; total depth 100 m) was drilled on a previously defined IP anomaly located between the mine shaft and the open cut (Eys tunnel), to test for a possible down plunge extension of the previously worked Cu-Ag deposit. A low grade oreshoot was intersected between 70 and 78 m depth (maximum assays 0.81% Cu, 184 ppm Ag, 2,950 ppm Pb, 6,750 ppm Zn, 1.1% As), but its calculated ore tonnage (6,000 tonnes), low grades, and narrow true width (1 metre) indicated that it would be uneconomic to mine. It was inferred that any further undiscovered ore reserves would probably be of similar magnitude and grade.
