TARGET: Diamonds in the Mount Hope area on western Eyre Peninsula. EXPLORATION: An airborne magnetic-radiometric survey (SADME / BMR / Stockdale 1988), heavy mineral sampling, follow-up ground magnetic surveying, and RAB drilling (91 holes totalling 3704 m). RESULTS: Two kimberlites were located and drilled (42 holes totalling 1828 m). Both are small (with 0.8 and 1.25 ha subcrop areas), they occur under 20 to 50 m of Quaternary - Tertiary cover, and are non-diamondiferous.
