In a search for possible economic near-surface gold or base metal occurrences within a now relinquished EL portion located near Bull Creek in the southern Adelaide Hills, a literature search, assaying of stored historic diamond drillhole core samples, and rock chip sampling of bedrock outcrops visited at previously reported gold occurrences, did not delineate any areas with significant potential. Follow-up of seven drainage geochemical anomalies which were detected over outcropping Kanmantoo Group rocks showed that they did not warrant further work. A detailed airborne magnetic/radiometric survey flown over part of the EL revealed a discrete 150 nT magnetic anomaly 8 km west of the Wheal Ellen mine that was recommended for follow-up to look for discordant base metal mineralisation, but on-ground access was denied by the landowner.
