Possible exhalative sulphide orebodies of the Broken Hill - Aggeneys type, associated with Lower Proterozoic banded iron formations that are known to be Pb-Cu anomalous in the Cleve area (Campoona Syncline) 35 km to the south-east, were the prime target of exploration within a small area 13 km north-east of Darke Peak. Two intense, linear aeromagnetic anomalies that were assumed to be banded iron formation trends within the Hutchison Group were RAB drilled along ground magnetic traverses. 3 holes (total 110 m) that were put down over the Bosanquet Reservoir Trend encountered clastically - derived magnetite in aluminous gneiss, and 7 holes (total 203 m) put down over the Pindara bullseye anomaly encountered ferrous oxides in schists of probable exhalative origin. No significant base metals were intersected.
