Exploration for diamondiferous kimberlites and stratabound base metals in the Kapunda area comprised regional drainage and rock-chip geochemical sampling. Reconnaissance stream sediment sampling returned only low metal values, and sampling of basic outcrops did not find any with kimberlitic affinities. Gravel sampling recovered several chromites plus, interestingly, a single macro-diamond (0.9 mm x 0.5 mm) from just south-west of Kapunda, but follow-up sampling failed to reveal further stones.
