TARGET: Ongoing evaluation of the Honeymoon deposit. EXPLORATION: Pilot wellfield drilling (48 holes) on a 60 m by 30 m grid over the eastern half of the deposit, hydrological investigations, metallurgical testing, and in-situ push-pull leaching trials. RESULTS: The uranium ore is fully amenable to solution mining by alkali leaching.

Notes: This tenure period follows on from that of EL 259, but the subject licence is now held over a 50% reduced portion in the east of that former holding, and is being explored by the MIM-MTA joint venture essentially as a sedimentary uranium prospect. Three Retention Leases (RLs 10-12) covering the Honeymoon deposit and the proposed processing plant site were granted on 26/5/81, and this area was excluded from the requirements of the South Eagle Exploration Licence after March 1982.
