Ongoing exploration in the Mulyungarie Station area, located 50 km north-northwest of Cockburn, which is targeting potentially economic base metal - mineralised "Bimba Formation" Early Proterozoic metasediments under shallow cover, has consisted of ground magnetic and IP surveys of two aeromagnetic anomalies, plus rotary airblast drilling (4 holes, total penetration 244 m) and percussion/diamond drilling (1 hole to 456 m, with 407 m cored). Based on an evaluation of diamond core intercepts of patchy sulphide mineralisation, which possibly might improve in frequency with depth below that penetrated, it was decided that follow-up work was not warranted, although this means that the target strata may not have been adequately tested.
